Model Brand Acer Series Aspire Model AS5734Z-4512 Part Number LX.PXN02.055 Quick Info Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Intel Pentium dual-core T4500 2.3G Screen 15.6' 4 GB DDR3 320 GB DVD Super Multi Intel GMA 4500M Shared memory Communication LAN and WLAN Battery Life 3.0 hours Dimensions (W x D x H) 14.60' x 9.71' x 1.10' - 1.60' Weight 6.00 lbs. Pros: Fast for the price. Dual Core better than not for sure. Battery life. Faster than AMD Dual Core at similar price.

Cons: Don't much like Windows 7. Video still weak come on intel figure out how to do Graphics. Keyboard is sensitive to heat. Set a plate of hot food on it for a minute or so and 4 keys melted. Sort of my fault but other Notebooks never did this.

Other Thoughts: Great for most College Students or less. Great for almost anyone else except someone that plays any graphics intensive games. Only for those would I recomend AMD over intel and only then because most come with decent graphics. Pientium is faster and usese less power. Pros: Price, dual core, ddr3 Cons: Not a fast dual core, no driver cd's (have to burn them from the utility program installed and its 3 dvd's) My notebook died shortly after buying it and since I didnt buy from newegg acer wont rma and my schools bookstore wont refund me either Other Thoughts: If you are going to buy cheap products that seem like a good deal buy from Newegg or its your own dam fault when you get burnt. Newegg rocks and will fix nearly any issues you have so be smart and shop Newegg (and don't worry if you buy from Newegg) As for me I think I will cry since I am out several hundred dollars and have a dead laptop:(.

Pros: DDR3, 4GB RAM, 320HD. PRICE & VALUE at $399.00 from Newegg w/FREE Shipping. Excellent support and response from Newegg allowing me to service my customer better.

Cons: HD320 started flaking out first day. Noticed some shock damage on one end of UPS box the computer was shipped in.

Possible cause of failed drive. Other Thoughts: The HD was definitely the problem WD320 has great reviews from Newegg customers, so I was surprised when I confirmed it was NG. Replaced it with a 500GB HD and it is working fine now.

I did not want to return the Notebook for credit in order to meet my customer delivery goal so Newegg supported my request for nominal monetary credit on the HD and they paid for FREE NEXT DAY UPS DELIVERY for a replacement drive. Pros: Price, Full size keyboard Cons: Built flimsy. Tech support if you need it is very, very poor.

Other Thoughts: Got the earlier version of this same laptop a few months back for my son. Only difference was his had the 250GB hard drive instead of the 320GB. Out of the box, the thing would boot then shut off. We called tech support several times and after several days they finally agreed to RMA the laptop.

They wouldn't exchange it, just repair the one I got him. Got it back and it's worked for about a month and a half, and now the touchpad doesn't work, so I guess we'll start callling tech support again and get this fixed.

Just as a point of info Acer's tech support is tied in with three companies. My son also has a Gateway Desktop that I got for him, and we've had to deal with the same people in tech support.

Save yourself some troubles, buy another brand that's better known and has better reliability. Bus Speed A bus is a subsystem that transfers data between computer components or between computers. Types include front-side bus (FSB), which carries data between the CPU and memory controller hub; direct media interface (DMI), which is a point-to-point interconnection between an Intel integrated memory controller and an Intel I/O controller hub on the computer’s motherboard; and Quick Path Interconnect (QPI), which is a point-to-point interconnect between the CPU and the integrated memory controller. Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology is an advanced means of enabling high performance while meeting the power-conservation needs of mobile systems. Conventional Intel SpeedStep® Technology switches both voltage and frequency in tandem between high and low levels in response to processor load.

Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology builds upon that architecture using design strategies such as Separation between Voltage and Frequency Changes, and Clock Partitioning and Recovery.
